Brian Mickus is a Director within the Biologics Process Research & Development department at Merck & Co. in Rahway, NJ. He has more than 16 years of experience in biologics and vaccines process development with specific expertise in upstream cell culture and cross-functional CMC management. Prior to joining Merck, Brian worked for 10 years in roles of increasing responsibility at Gilead Sciences in Oceanside, CA, most recently as the Director of Upstream Biologics Process Development. He started his industrial career at Merck & Co. in West Point, PA, where he acquired skills in the Molecular Profiling and Vaccine Process Development groups. Brian has a Ph.D. from MIT and a BSE from Princeton University, both within Chemical Engineering.
