Melissa St. Amand is the Global Head of Digital Transformation Platform within MSAT DSD at Sanofi. Prior to joining Sanofi, Melissa worked at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where she was a Science Engineering and Technical Advisor within the Information Inn ovation Office (I2O) and Biological Technologies Office (BTO). While at DARPA, Melissa managed several multi – million – dollar programs to transform the fields of data science, natural language processing, CRISPR – based therapeutics, and cell – free protein synthesis. Before joining DARPA, Melissa did a post – doc at the NIH within the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. Melissa received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware. Her thesis explored strategies for online quality control during biopharmaceutical production, focusing on glycosylation. Melissa received dual bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and worked as a process engineer at Genzyme before starting her graduate work.
